I started working with clay in 2008 when I attended a class on Life Sculpture with Karin Hessenberg. I had known for a long time that I wanted to work with clay but never actually signed up to a class. Since that first introduction I have never stopped finding opportunities to have my hands in clay and learn new skills in hand building and sculptural work.
I spent some time in Cape Town where I attended classes with the artist Katherine Glenday working mainly with porcelain. In Sheffield I attended Brian Holland’s workshop sessions and began to learn more about glazing techniques. I mainly work with stoneware and raw oxides.
I am very pleased to have joined Claywirks in 2020.
