Inga Heppleston

Inga’s current work at Claywirks is thrown in red earthenware clay with the addition of slip.

Focussing on domestic ware, she takes inspiration from the photos in the original Cranks recipe book (the food too), Victorian earthenware pancheons, tin camping mugs and the fact that lovely food can be made even lovelier by eating it from something that has also been hand made.

She hopes to develop her earthenware pots with the addition of pattern, more colours and by pressing natural materials into the clay to create a sgraffito effect.

Inga is also one of the makers for Parkwood Pottery in Alfreton, where she works predominately in stoneware.
