For the last five years I have been throwing pots using stoneware clay, attempting to make lighter ware and exploring the use of slip and underglaze to decorate while drawing into the surface with natural objects. With this technique I intend to give my pots a spontaneous and unpredictable look but with a fineness of detail and a balance of shape and colour.
I focus mainly on making small cups, mugs and bowls.
However… I am now looking at doing the opposite of the above just to see where it takes me.
I am one of the makers for Parkwood Pottery in Alfreton as well as working independently at the Claywirks shared space.
