Andrea’s love of wildlife and the peak district landscape inspires her ceramic work. She enjoys using animal forms to create her own hand built functional and sculptural pieces, a tradition applied by potters for thousands years.
A background in print and pattern design led to a process that combines printmaking techniques with ceramics. Impressing lino blocks into slabs of clay she creates individual plaques, vessels and sculptures with detailed reliefs. She uses both earthenware and stoneware clays experimenting with her own slips, oxides and glazes. Her work has been exhibited in galleries across the East Midlands.
